Meet The Team
Sam Thomas
Managing Director
Sam is the CEO and presiding broker of Starck Uberoi Wealth.
Specializing in Residential, Buy-to-Let, Bridging & Title Split Finance in addition to the FCA-approved roles of Executive Director, Compliance Oversight and Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
Sam graduated with honours from the University of Surrey in 2012 which included time studying at the University of Maryland, USA. He then began his career in finance in 2013 and qualified in 2016.
Sam has vast experience in his fields having worked with specialist brokerages before taking the leap to run his own firm. He has an impeccable track record of success for his clients.
Outside of work, Sam enjoys travelling, sports, and is also currently learning to fly light aircraft.
Raminder Singh Uberoi
Director
Raminder is a qualified solicitor, a co-director and head of the legal department at Starck Uberoi Wealth.
He read Law both at the University of Reading and at the European Law Faculty at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands. In recent times he also qualified as a notary public from University College London. He has over 20 years’ experience in residential and commercial property law and, having identified a demand for integrated mortgage and conveyancing services, founded Starck Uberoi Wealth in order to fill this gap in the market.
As well as this vast experience, Raminder utilises his strong analytical skills and wide knowledge of property matters to provide optimal legal solutions for every client, from first-time buyers to seasoned property investors. Clients particularly commend his jargon-free advice and innovative thinking as he offers a creative soundboard to all our advisors in exploring solutions to technical legal hurdles.
Outside of work, Raminder has a keen interest in WW1 military history and has previously volunteered with the National Army Museum in London.
Andrew Hammond
Chartered Financial Planner
Andrew is our chartered financial planner and joined the practice in 2020 to develop our wealth management service. He began his career as an accountant and, after a period of extensive travel around the world, started his career in financial services in 1995.
Since then, Andrew has acquired a wealth of experience advising individual private clients and small businesses on all financial matters. He is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and Personal Finance Society, and is very proud to have achieved Chartered status in 2011. His specialised areas of advice include holistic financial planning, tax efficient investments, retirement planning and all aspects of property finance, including equity release. He is also qualified to advise on ‘Final Salary’ pension schemes and has over 5 years of experience with the dynamic world of cryptocurrency.
Establishing trusting and long-lasting relationships with his clients is one of Andrew’s priorities in his work. He is both a pragmatic thinker as well as highly empathetic, as he gets to know his clients well to understand their requirements before finding them the most appropriate solution to their query, using his comprehensive experience and knowledge.
Andrew still enjoys travelling and also has an interest in both gardening and all kinds of sports.
Pippa Bode
Compliance Manager
Pippa is our in-house Compliance Manager. Having graduated with a BSc in Psychology from the University of Bristol she continued her studies and completed her MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology at the University of Surrey. Pippa thoroughly enjoyed studying Psychology and thus wished to further her career by exploring the interaction between individuals and organisations, as well as broader social, political and economic contexts.
Mostly importantly Pippa enjoys working with people, understanding their needs and ensuring that these are met. She pays particular attention to detail and at Starck Uberoi she is committed to ensuring that all procedures not only comply with the Financial Conduct Authority’s requirements but are also streamlined and perfectly managed, significantly improving turnaround times for our clients.
In her spare time Pippa enjoys learning new languages, exploring new cultures and growing her own vegetables.
Mark Brindley
Financial Adviser
Mark joined our financial planning team in 2022, specialising in tax-efficient investment advice, retirement planning and Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs).
Mark graduated from Loughborough University and quickly began his career in Accountancy and Investment Banking. After having worked at several prestigious companies including Barclays Capital, ABN Amro and Deutsche Bank, Mark then became qualified as a chartered independent financial adviser. He is now an important member of our financial planning team.
Besides his extensive experience in financial services, what makes Mark perfect for his role is his determination to find the most suitable financial solutions for each personal situation. He strives to offer bespoke, in-depth advice for every client whether their financial needs are simple or more complex. He has also built up an impressive property portfolio utilising his financial knowledge and expertise.
During his free time, Mark enjoys playing golf, spending time with his family and travelling all over the world.
Louise Jones
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Louise Jones is the Mortgage Case Manager here at Starck Uberoi Wealth Ltd. She is responsible for ensuring that the mortgage process runs smoothly for all clients by communicating with clients and mortgage lenders and overseeing mortgage applications.
Louise is highly qualified, holding a Higher National Diploma in Business and Finance as well as the Financial Planning Certificate, Mortgage Advice Qualification and Certificate in Equity Release and Life time Mortgages. After graduating, Louise began her career in banking before moving across to the mortgage sector and has amassed over 20 years’ experience within financial services.
This experience has made her an expert in sourcing and submitting all types of mortgages for clients of vastly different backgrounds from first time buyers to high-net-worth individuals. Alongside Sam she is excited to build Starck Uberoi Wealth’s network of new and recuring clients and is particularly passionate about sharing with clients the benefits of life cover.
Louise leads an active life and loves spending time outdoors, especially horse riding, and looking after her two horses and walking her dogs. She also enjoys spending quality time with her two teenagers.
Josh Rewcastle
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Josh is our Mortgage and Protection adviser, able to offer both invaluable mortgage advice and advice regarding all forms of insurance.
He graduated with first class honours in Media & Entertainment technology from the University of Portsmouth before going on to achieve his CeMap in 2015, and soon began his career in financial advice. His expertise is within personal and mortgage protection, remortgaging, buy-to-let mortgages and residential mortgages.
He strives to provide the best customer service to our clients and enjoys working with a wide range of clients from all different backgrounds. He enjoys working with people and is currently building up his own property portfolio.
Outside of work, Josh enjoys music, football, and spending time with friends and family.
Harleen Anand
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Harleen joined Starck Uberoi Solicitors in March 2016 as an Accounts Administrator, and has since also undertaken a role within Starck Uberoi Wealth as a Mortgage and Protection Consultant.
She holds a CeMAP qualification and extensive experience not only in Mortgage advice, but also sales and retail banking, which has granted her a wide knowledge of finances as well as exceptional customer services skills.
An optimistic and cheery person, Harleen feels happiest when she brings a smile to her client’s face. She enjoys getting to know clients as individuals and building long-lasting relationships with them, which allows her to offer the most suitable advice for them personally using knowledge of their circumstances and needs.
Most of Harleen’s spare time is dedicated to socialising with family and friends.
Tom Broad
Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Tom is one of our Mortgage and Protection Advisers, specialising in the more ambiguous cases that Starck Uberoi Wealth accepts.
Tom holds a BSc honours degree from the University of Birmingham as well as a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and a CF1 qualification.
His particular expertise is in Let to Buy mortgage to facilitate an onward purchase, and helping First Time Landlords into the investment market. He is aiming to build up his portfolio and acquire further experience in helping clients to find the most suitable mortgage deals.
Outside of work, Tom likes to stay active – he is a keen runner and enjoys playing football, managing a local men’s team and having played semi-professionally. He also enjoys spending quality time with friends and family.
Finlay Waller
Paraplanner & Office Manager
Finlay joined Starck Uberoi Wealth in 2020 before completing his financial qualifications and becoming a paraplanner, supporting Andrew in his work as well as ensuring essential administrative tasks are completed.
Having graduated in mathematics from the University of Oxford, he applies his analytical mindset and pragmatic thinking to ensuring our clients receive the best service possible. He is currently working towards his financial qualifications with the intention of becoming a paraplanner in the near future.
Driven and efficient, Finlay is largely responsible for keeping Starck Uberoi Wealth running. He sees to each task with the utmost care, and his eye for detail ensures that errors are not made and that Starck Uberoi Wealth maintains its fast and faultless service.
In his spare time, Finlay has a keen interest in aviation and also enjoys making cocktails.
Jamie Rogers
Business Development Manager
Jamie joined us in late 2021 as Business Development Manager. His job is to bring new clients into the business.
After using Starck Uberoi Wealth’s services personally and recommending them to family and friends, Jamie decided to join us to share his experience to a wider audience. The job fits his personality well, as Jamie thrives on building relationships and helping clients by matching them with their wealth needs.
In his spare time, Jamie is a performing musician and runs a music teaching company alongside his work. He also has an interest in property development.
James Knowland
Financial Planning Administrator
James joined us in 2022 to train as a financial planning administrator.
With Prior experience and qualifications in accountancy he is numerically focused and eager to establish a wealth of knowledge to aid clients.
In his spare time James likes to train in the gym, play video games and spend time with his partner and dogs. Additionally, James has recently acquired his first rental property and looking to grow other revenue streams.
